Trellion’s self-produced 2015 album Lighthouse Tape started making waves beyond UK shores, catching the attention of US producer The Alchemist, who tweeted his appreciation. We also had our first trip to SXSW 2015 and found ourselves sharing accommodation with LA artists Gavlyn, Blimes and DJ Dubplates.

What started with chat about favourite jungle tunes over breakfast blossomed into a run of collaborations. Including Gavlyn & Blimes’ Dodgy (produced by Walter Ego and Lean Low) then Lean Low & DJ Dubplates’ Pay It No Mind mixtape series, inspired by the dark, underground sound of Memphis rap pioneered by Three-6 Mafia, Gangsta Pat and Lil Noid.
