Walter Ego first started working with Bad Taste in 2011, and an underground heater in those early days was ‘Calm Down’, a high-energy collision of dubstep, grime and house featuring 0114 grime MCs K Dot and Coco. For a couple years you couldn’t go out to raves in the steel city without hearing it getting wheeled up multiple times. Over the years he’s made a fusion of UK garage, UK funky with grime, house and hip hop influences. Alongside previous releases on Bad Taste, Walter Ego has released music on Kerri Chandler’s imprint Mad Tech, andT oddla T’s Girls Music. He’s gained support from Mixmag, XLR8R, Thump, DJ Mag, and radio play on Radio 1,1Xtra, 6Music and Rinse FM from the likes of Annie Mac, Nick Grimshaw, Annie Nightengale, Mistajam, Toddla T, Giles Peterson & Plastician.
